Fall is here! And that means apples are here too! And what better dish to make on a chilly fall day than a warm, delicious, and comforting Apple Pecan Crisp.

Apple Crisp – the ultimate comfort food
Apple crisp has been one of my favorite fall foods since childhood and it is one that I look forward to making every fall. It’s got all those warm and comforting spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger that make fall desserts so special and nostalgic.

Apple Pecan Crisp is perfect for the holidays!
Plus, this Apple Pecan Crisp is so easy to make that you can make it any time. It’s especially easy for those holiday occasions when you need to come up with something really quick and delicious to take to a family gathering or potluck with friends.
To be or not to be gluten-free apple crisp
Apple crisp is pretty easy to veganize and make gluten-free. With all the gluten-free flours out there, it’s not hard to find one that you like. There’s not a ton of flour in the recipe anyway, and in fact, you could just pulse some oats into a flour and use that.
When I made this recipe for my video (see below), I used quinoa flour, which I have found to be an excellent replacement for white flour, especially when combined with almond flour. But when it comes down to it, for this recipe, you really could use any kind of flour you want – gluten free or not!
Go nuts!
What makes this apple crisp a bit different is that I added some nice, crunchy pecans. I just adore pecans! They are another one of those foods that just evokes the feeling of fall and holiday cooking.
Plus, nuts are sooo good for you, and especially tasty when they’ve been toasted. Since this apple crisp is topped with pecans, they get nice and toasty and crunchy in the oven!

Apple Crisp is perfect any time!
You might think of Apple Pecan Crisp as a dessert, and it certainly is great for that! However, I personally love eating apple crisp for breakfast with a dollop of plant-based yogurt, or as a mid-afternoon snack with a hot cup of tea.

Any time you like, I know this recipe will become one of your favorites to make every fall.
